When Should I Redesign My Outdated Website?

Do you have a website that you haven’t touched in years? You could potentially be wasting money on hosting and domain renewals with an outdated website with a huge bounce rate and little to no conversions. In the time of technology, everything is constantly changing. The new norm could be something completely different than 3 years ago. There are always new discoveries happening with digital marketing and conversions. You don’t want to be wasting money on your website that isn’t doing what it’s supposed to be doing, which is conversions.

So how do you know when you should do a website redesign? Well, when was the last time you did one? You should typically do a redesign every 2-3 years. You should always be adjusting your site every so often so you can reach it’s full potential! But a whole website redesign I would say every 2-3 years. This allows you to keep your brand up-to-date and improve website conversions and outdated material. There are other tall-tale signs that you need to update your site.

The first one is if your site isn’t mobile responsive. A couple years ago when you first made the site, it wasn’t that important if your site wasn’t viewed well on a phone. Now, most of the internet traffic is coming from some sort of device other than a computer. This could be either phone, tablet or some other device. If your website isn’t mobile responsive, that’s the first thing you want to do. You could be missing out on a ton of conversions.

Another sign is if you have a high bounce rate on your site. A bounce rate is the rate at which users go to your site and leave after just viewing one page, and not navigating through. If your bounce rate is high on your site, it’s time for an update.
