Why You Should Collect Email Addresses With Your Website
Collecting email addresses on your site is crucial. Now, some of you might be saying, why would I need to do that? Well the main reason is for future marketing. You want a large email list of subscribers to be able to send promotional emails or newsletters. These email promotions will drive those users back to your website, generally with call-to-actions. You want to try to build a community of regular subscribers that will enjoy to receive personal emails from your business. For example, “Check Out Our Latest Blog Post,” or “We Are Running A 10% Off Sale.” It obviously depends on your business and what your marketing goals are. Usually the marketing goal for everyone is to drive more sales to your business. Sometimes it could be to drive more traffic to your site, or gather more information about your customers. The more information you have about your customers/users, the more it will benefit your marketing campaigns.
Incentives
Most users won’t just give you their email for nothing. A good idea when gathering emails is to include some sort of incentive. Like a free podcast download, or 20% off at checkout, or “A Free PDF on the Tools I use For Marketing On WordPress.” If you have a food blog, offer a free pdf “cookbook” of “My Top 10 Under 20 Minute Recipes.” Something that you know your users are going to be interested in. This is just one tip on how to build of that email list.
Email Marketing
Email marketing, statistically, is the best route to go when it comes to marketing. Try and find me someone you know that doesn’t have email. Now, try and find me someone that doesn’t have social media. I’m sure you cannot find me anyone you know without an email, but I am sure there are one or two people you could find without social medias. The possibilities are endless. There are so many over-night success stories with using call-to-actions on email lists and seeing sales just double, triple in 6 months. So go out there and start to collect email addresses!
