The Importance Of Brand Recognition
Whenever you go to the grocery store, do you go down the condiment aisle and right away you see the Heinz yellow mustard that you want. In your mind you don’t even see all of the other mustards because this is the one you always get. Or find yourself singing along with the catchy jingles while you’re in your car. These are the brands that you will always stick with no matter what. That is what we call brand recognition. Brand recognition can come in many forms, like a logo, a slogan, colors, or even little jingles in commercials. I believe that most people that see the Nike “swoosh” logo would know that that is Nike, or hear the “bada bop bop bop” and then say “I’m lovin’ it.”
So how do we get to that point? Well it’s not just going to happen right away. One of the ways to increase brand recognition is by constantly keeping different media’s updated and posting consistently. We need consistent social media posts weekly or monthly depending on what your target market is like. In turn, creating content for social media can lead to blog posts and podcasts, etc. It’s the idea of taking our specific content and posting it through all of the media that we have on the internet. A brand has a lot to do with your personality and the personality of the company. After a while we begin to create healthy relationships with customers built on information, problem solving, and fantastic customer service to always make them want to come back.
Okay, so we have the basics down, now we can jump into the more technical aspects. The higher the brand recognition means your brand now has brand equity. Everyones coming to your business, they have been coming back consistently and you are gaining more and more new customers. Well that’s great right! Business is booming. This means because you offer such a good product or service that customers will be willing to pay MORE because they know how good you are. So now, you’re raising prices and making more money. If you are a corporation your stock price will rise. You have been posting consistently so your social impact has risen. You have made a name for yourself.
Building a brand is like making new friends and keeping the ones you have. Successful businesses generally solve a problem for their customers kind of like friends help other friends solve problems. We want to be known as the problem solvers, providing informational content to our customers, and customer service that is bar none. Our friends will always be returning and recognizing our brand.
